He earned his Bachelor of Science from Tulane University in 1989 and his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1997. He completed both his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, followed by a fellowship in surgical sports medicine at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with an added specialty certification in Sports Medicine.
