A Precision Specialty with a Broad Impact

Much like my decision to pursue orthopaedic surgery as a career, I decided to focus  specifically on hand and upper-extremity surgery because, in my experience, it is simply the best—the best people, the best work, the most challenging and consequently the most rewarding. Though specific to an anatomic location, the range and variety of straightforward “bread-and-butter” everyday diagnoses, complex congenital hand anomalies, and traumatic upper extremity injuries, brings something to the table for everyone. The advantages of hand surgery are all-encompassing of the things I enjoy about orthopaedic surgery: fracture care, soft-tissue management, peripheral nerve care, and a wide variety of patient demographics and needs.

Family, Community, and a Place to Call Home

I am originally from Kentucky, and, admittedly thought I would always go back! I met my husband in Birmingham, Alabama, and after having kids, we sought to be close to family and the beach! I feel fortunate to have found such an amazing community to help raise our family and build a practice.

Community Impact and Professional Connections

I am currently involved as an active member of the Eastern Shore Medical Alliance (ESMA), a local organization of women that supports local non-profits within the Baldwin County area. Professionally, I am active member of the Alabama Orthopedic Society (AOS) as a local, general orthopedic organization and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH),  a national, hand-specific organization.
