He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia in 2013 and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2017. Dr. Hicks completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2022 and went on to pursue a fellowship in Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington, which he completed in 2023.
Dr. Hicks is licensed to practice in both Alabama and Washington and holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). He is a member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AO Spine, and the North American Spine Society.
